Viofo A119 pre-production sample

I've been using a pre-production A119 sample for a week.   The form and functions will seem familiar if you have an A118.   The night video  promises to be be much better, once they get a 'blue tint' issued sorted out in the firmware.
Is this dash cam worth waiting a few months for it to be released for sale to the public?
Maybe?   If you have no dash cam now,  you may be better off buying an established, reliable cam you can put into use, now.
If you have a working dash cam that you are not happy with, and want to upgrade, maybe cross your fingers and wait for the A119 to be tweaked, and released.

Here are some video samples.  Please remember, this is not a production A119.    While the overall video looks pretty good, the night video will improve once they adjust the firmware.

The A119 comes equipped with a capacitor, not a battery.    This is preferred for trucks, and longer life with fewer problems in any dash cam.   The A119 is also showing less 'start up' quirks in the truck than the other capacitor equipped cam I have.

A quick test of the 'motion detection' mode yields no surprises.  Like most dash cams, 'motion detection' doesn't really work well.

My factory sample arrived without the OEM mount, and the cam has provisions for an internal GPS.
The A119 uses an adhesive mounting plate that can have power and GPS unit built in.

Overall, the A119  has been reliable, and easy to use.   I'm looking forward to the 'tweaks' that will fix the blue tint to the video on the pre-production sample.
